 This week around 30 Master Students from different Georgian universities visit FZJ in the frame of Georgian-German Science Bridge (GGSB). Four students from Tbilisi State University (TSU) with background in math and computer science, which already have been at Forschungszentrum for 4 weeks before, want to benefit from our experience and capabilities in the fields of ML and HPC and use their visit now to learn more about these topics. They are accompanied by Prof. Ramaz Botchorishvili, Head of Department of Numerical Analysis and Computational Technologies, TSU, who will stay at FZJ as a guest researcher for a further three months afterwards. The group is hosted by IBG-2 and IEK-8 which, by help of colleagues from JSC and coordinated by Hanno Scharr (IBG-2), provide a comprehensive program of lectures, tutorials and hands-on training around ML applications and GPU and HPC usage and programming. Goal of the program is to qualify the students in these fields in order to enable them to prepare their final theses together with groups at FZJ at a later date.
