Tk1.3: Space Weather (Jorge Amaya) - focusing on TSMP Tk1.4: Weather forecast and climate (Olivier Marsden) - CLOUDSC physics miniapp working with JUBE - work started on proxy application using MPI features available for MSA - got GPU-enabled IFS spectral transforms miniapp working on Jülich systems Tk1.5: Seismic imaging (Daniel Grünewald) Tk1.6: Molecular dynamics (Stefano Markidis) - testing performance of FFT libraries on GROMACS Tk1.7: Computational fluid dynamics (Niclas Jansson) Tk1.8: Neutron Monte Carlo transport for nuclear energy (Patrick Carribault) - No progress (vacation time) Tk1.9: Earth system modelling (Daniel Caviedes-Voullième) - trying to put together what was learnt in JUBE workshop ## File tags in IO-SEA IO-SEA is dealing with hints that are "tags" associated to data or set of data, they provide user related information about the data and the way it is used (such as "this is a check-point restart file", or "this is a movie, it will mostly be accessed sequentially", or "this is a very important database, please backup it"). Since it has close interaction with end users, it could be handled by the middleware, and here we have a connection with DEEP-SEA : how will DEEP-SEA handle this? What would be the most convenient way to add those tags to files? At creation? After a run is over during post processing? ## 1st Deliverable -> 31 July 2021 -> Ready for internal review 12 July 2021 > Initial application co-design input [all WP1‑Tasks]1 Documents requirements of all applications for co-design; includes all data analytics SW requirements, compute, memory & communication performance, footprints, communication patterns, etc. Done! ## Consortium meeting in October Please fill out the [poll](https://doodle.com/poll/5mqgbyp94c4praq9). In previous projects each application gave a ~20 min presentation during the first consortium meeting. This may be a chance to introduce other aspects of the application compared to the seminar and introduce it to even more members of the project especially those that joined later.
